The Spanish government has approved two housing decrees. They will enter into force after publication in the Official State Gazette (BOE). The measures extend protection against evictions. They also regulate rental prices. Implementation in the Canary Islands depends on the decision of the Gobierno de Canarias and local municipalities. Official publication in the Boletín Oficial de Canarias (BOC) confirms aid of up to 6000 EUR. This covers rent costs for eligible applicants. Santa Cruz de Tenerife has activated an online module. This allows for the self-reporting of empty commercial properties.
